Roche launches first smartphone application designed to remotely monitor status of connected cobas® systems

Roche launches mobicheck smartphone app

Roche announced today that its Centralized Diagnostics division has successfully released the cobas® mobicheck app for use on Android® and iOS® smartphone devices.

This innovative, new software application is designed to enable lab managers to remotely monitor the system’s status, reagent usage and alarm information on up to three cobas 8000 systems per application while in meetings or out of the lab—giving users real-time notification to any potential issues before they become bigger problems.

To help shorten downtimes, the cobas mobicheck app makes information available to up to eight users who are logged into an account and connected to a wireless network, which allows for faster decision making, enhanced walkaway time and no location restrictions.

According to Joe Crowley, Senior Vice President, Roche Professional Diagnostics, Roche hopes that lab managers will immediately embrace and integrate the new cobas mobicheck app into their labs because of the many potential benefits it has to offer, including reduced errors, greater efficiency, and less hands-on monitoring by highly trained lab personnel.

“This new app will not only allow users to stay in control of any situation wherever they are, but provide them with easy access to real-time information to make those critically important and appropriate decisions for their labs,” he said. “It’s definitely a real game changer in terms of how today’s labs are remotely monitored and managed today.”
